Notes: Some books we search for. Some books we are given. Some books
we are told we need to read for a class or course. And yet there are
those rare books that we find. Like finding a gem when we weren't
actually looking. This is one of those special books.
When I cam across The Fragrance of God it was a pleasant surprise.
As it was mixed with an assortment of books that were covered in a
fine layer of dust. And obviously had not been perused for some time.
I think the cover caught my eye to begin with. I enjoy flowers and
even assist with the flower arrangements at the Church I attend. So
the combination of the cover and the title got me interested.
What I discovered as I read the book, was a rich tapestry of scripture
and a spiritual journey. Not so much a technical book on how to do
things in the garden. But more a wonderful reflection on how the garden
has, and in many ways, still reflects God's creation.
It's a wonderful book for even those who are not in the least interested
in gardening. As it is full of inspiration and insight. Well worth
reading.
